Prince Louis of Cambridge ( LOO-ee;[two] Louis Arthur Charles; born 23 April 2018) is a member of the British royal family. He is the third and youngest child and second son of Prince William, Knuckles of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. He is fifth in the line of succession to the British throne.
Birth and christening [edit]
Prince Louis, the third child of the Knuckles and Duchess of Cambridge, was born at xi:01 BST (x:01 UTC) on 23 April 2018.[3] [4] [v] On 24 April, gun salutes from the Belfry of London and Hyde Park and bell ringings at Westminster Abbey marked the nascency.[6] On 27 Apr 2018, it was appear that the baby had been named Louis Arthur Charles,[7] the first and final names honouring his paternal great-neat-great-uncle Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, and his paternal grandad Charles, Prince of Wales, respectively.[8]
On 9 July 2018, Louis was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, using h2o from the River Jordan in accordance with tradition.[9] His godparents are Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Lady Laura Meade, Hannah Gillingham Carter, and Lucy Middleton.[10] He wore the replica of the royal christening gown, created in 2008 as a copy of the 1841 gown fabricated for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter Victoria, Princess Royal, and used for every majestic christening until it was retired for preservation in 2004.[11]

Louis made his get-go Trooping the Colour advent on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on eight June 2019.[13] [14] In March 2020, he joined his siblings, George and Charlotte, in an online video to applaud key workers during the coronavirus pandemic.[15] In September 2020, the children met David Attenborough; Kensington Palace subsequently released a video of them request Attenborough questions regarding environmental conservation.[xvi] [17] In December 2020, they made their first red rug appearance accompanying their parents to the London Palladium for a operation of a pantomime held to thank key workers for their efforts during the pandemic.[18] [nineteen] [20]
